
The American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) was established to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards of Sleep Medicine, and issue certificates of special knowledge in Sleep Medicine to Physicians and PhDs in related fields.

2007 CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION IN SLEEP MEDICINE |

Commencing in 2007, several American Board of Medical Specialties member boards (American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Pediatrics and American Board of Otolaryngology) will administer an examination in sleep medicine. At that time, the American Board of Sleep Medicine will no longer administer an examination. For further information regarding future sleep medicine examinations, please visit the Web site of the ABMS member board through which you have received your specialty certification. The contact information for each ABMS member board administering a sleep medicine examination is below. Please note that the American Board of Sleep Medicine will continue to maintain and verify the records of the Diplomates of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, as it is a lifetime certification.
