  Future Sleep Medicine Examinations

2007 CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION IN SLEEP MEDICINE

Commencing in 2007, several American Board of Medical Specialties member boards (American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Pediatrics and American Board of Otolaryngology) will administer an examination in sleep medicine. At that time, the American Board of Sleep Medicine will no longer administer an examination.

For further information regarding future sleep medicine examinations, please visit the Web site of the ABMS member board through which you have received your specialty certification. The contact information for each ABMS member board administering a sleep medicine examination is below.

Please note that the American Board of Sleep Medicine will continue to maintain and verify the records of the Diplomates of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, as it is a lifetime certification. Examination Date: November 15, 2007
Registration for first-time applicants: February 1, 2007, through May 1, 2007.
Registration for re-registrants: March 15, 2007, through June 15, 2007.

The final month of each registration requires payment of a late fee

All applicants must complete applications online during the registration periods. The requirements for online applications are found on the ABP Web site: www.abp.org. Additional information including eligibility requirements found on the ABP Web site. Each application ill be considered individually and must be acceptable to the ABP.

*You must apply to the Board through which you carry your primary certification. If you are applying through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or the American Board o Otolaryngology (ABOTO) for the 2007 Sleep Medicine Certifying Examination, you must contact that Board for registration dates.
